- Marie Cornejo, in her first season as coach of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School co-ed volleyball team, has been named the school’s girls varsity volleyball coach for the fall season.
- Einstein and Quince Orchard will each hold signing ceremonies this week for their seniors who will be playing college sports next year. The event at Einstein will be Tuesday at 10:45 am in the school’s auditorium, while Quince Orchard will host their ceremony Friday at 11:00 am.

Baseball: Rockville 2, Magruder 0
Senior Sean Van Gieson struck out seven and allowed one hit in pitching a seven-inning shutout to lead the visiting Rockville High School baseball team to a 2-0 win over Magruder on Saturday.
Tony Ortiz had an RBI single in the second inning and Brady Petrie added an RBI fielders choice in the fifth for the Rams (9-4). Marcus Hailstock and David Grant each had two hits for Rockville.
The Rams will host Walter Johnson on Monday, while the Colonels (7-4) will visit Quince Orchard on Tuesday.

Boys Tennis: QO 5, Damascus 2
The Quince Orchard High School boys tennis team won its sixth consecutive match and improved to 6-2 on the year by beating host Damascus 5-2 on Wednesday.
The two schools were originally scheduled to meet on April 18, but rain forced a postponement.
Both teams are in action again Thursday, with Quince Orchard hosting Springbrook and Damascus hosting Einstein.

Baseball: B-CC 4, Whitman 1
Senior Nico Narel-Aguilar pitched a one-hitter and drove in a run to give the Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School baseball team a 4-1 win over host Walt Whitman on Thursday.
It was the second straight loss for the Vikings after they opened the season with an eight-game winning streak.
Davon Williams, John Bollman and Raphael Sacks each drove in one run for the Barons (5-5).
B-CC will visit Wootton on Friday, while the Vikings will next be in action Tuesday when they host Walter Johnson.
Baseball: Poolesville’s Seely Throws Five-Inning Perfect Game vs. Einstein
Sophomore Thayer Seely struck out 10 and allowed no baserunners as the Poolesville High School baseball team topped host Einstein 11-0 in five innings Tuesday.
Seely was 1-for-4 at the plate with three RBI, and Kyle Brown was 4-for-4 with three RBI in the win for the Falcons (6-2).
Poolesville will host Wheaton on Thursday, while the Titans (2-5) will host Watkins Mill.
Softball: Miller’s HR Powers Northwest Over Seneca Valley
Junior Pitcher Stephanie Miller hit a game-winning 2-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning to give the Northwest High School softball team a 12-10 win over visiting Seneca Valley on Tuesday.
Miller was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI for the Jaguars (6-1), while sophomore catcher Jordan Sheppard and sophomore third baseman Jenna Brown each added three hits, 3 runs and 3 RBI. Northwest also got three hits and 4 RBI from junior shortstop Taylor Simpson.
Northwest will host Gaithersburg on Thursday, while Seneca Valley (4-3) will visit Clarksburg.
