ROCKVILLE, Md. — Jazmyn Sollars scored one goal and assisted on another as the Wootton High School girls soccer team topped visiting Damascus 2-0 on Saturday. Alyssa Kopsidas also scored for the Patriots (3-2).

Wootton senior goalie Lindsay DeStefano made five saves to record her second shutout of the season. The shutout loss was the first of the year against a public school opponent for the Hornets (3-3), who had scored a combined 16 goals over their previous two games.

Damascus will be back in action on Tuesday, when they are scheduled to host Montgomery 3A/2A rival Rockville. Wootton will host Richard Montgomery on Wednesday in the first Montgomery 4A South game of the year for both teams.
