Clarksburg Boys Take Class 4A State Indoor Track Title

Seniors Paul Joseph and William Bertrand led the Clarksburg High School boys indoor track team to their first-ever MPSSAA Class 4A state championship at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover on Tuesday. Joseph won the 300-meter dash and finished third in both the 55-meter hurdles and the 55-meter dash, while Bertrand had three second-place finishes in the 800, 1600 and 3200-meter runs.

Northwest finished second in the team standings, with senior Joshua McDonald winning the 500-meter run.

Field Hockey: B-CC 8, Clarksburg 0

CLARKSBURG, Md. — The Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School field hockey team used a balanced offensive attack and stifling defense to defeat host Clarksburg, 8-0, in a Montgomery County 4A West matchup on Saturday. The win was the second in a row for the Barons (2-3, 2-0) after they opened the season with three shutout losses in 24 hours last weekend.

Madisson Tully, Helen Webster and Bergen Kasoff scored two goals each for B-CC, while goalkeepers Kiley Goodwin and Andrea Tineo combined for the team’s second consecutive shutout. The Barons also got individual goals from Liz Orr and Mary Clare Vicenzi.
