Joe Bradshaw scored eight of his game-high 32 points in overtime to lead the visiting Albert Einstein High School boys basketball team to an 81-72 upset win over second-seeded North Hagerstown in the quarterfinal round of the MPSSAA 3A West regional playoff tournament on Thursday.
The Titans (11-13) led by as many as 12 points late in the third quarter, but the Hubs (17-6) went on a 9-2 run to make the score 54-48 at the start of the fourth period. North Hagerstown continued to chip away at the deficit throughout the fourth quarter, and Teddy Schoeck’s layup with 6.9 seconds remaining in regulation tied the game at 62 and sent it into overtime.
Einstein took over in the extra period, with Bradshaw hitting two of his game-high six 3-point shots and senior Josh Ogburn scoring seven of his 22 points in overtime.
Senior forward Andrew Yacyk, a Liberty University baseball recruit, led the Hubs in scoring with 23 points.
The Titans, who beat Watkins Mill in the first round, have won seven of their last nine games. They will play at third-seeded Urbana on Tuesday in the 3A West regional semifinals.
